WORD FROM RABBI ALEX.

We were not placed here on earth to do the possible. We were not called to achieve the ordinary. We are here by divine appointment to fill the world with a light that it does not know. To make the blind to see, to make the darkness shine, to make the bitter sweet, to bring the spiritual into the realm of the physical and to proclaim the presence of a Highly exalted God who hides in plain sight.

Have a wonderful day!!

ZAMBIA

Zambia has been hit by one of the worst drought in living memory. The Kariba Dam which is the largest man-made dam in the word and which houses Zambia’s hydro-power station is running at less than 10% capacity resulting in severe electricity outages.

Experts say the drought has been more devasting to Zambia’s economy than COVID-19. In many areas electricity only comes for just 1 hour a day.

Please do pray that with the onset of the rainy season that Zambia will receive adequate rains to feed itself and to take care of its electricity needs.

 ZMF NEWS

Our Israel solidarity march on the streets of Lusaka, Zambia. The Israeli consular joined us for the march.

We successfully hosted the Jewish voice medical outreach, East of Mumbwa in Central Zambia. The outreach targeted the Lemba Jews of Zambia and their neighbors. There were doctors and nurses from the USA, Ethiopia and Zambia. Over 8500 people received treatment, 600 people received Yeshua and 3 congregations were planted among the Lemba Jews.

The Lemba Jews are descendants of Aaron the High priest and are found primarily in Zimbabwe, Northern South Africa and Zambia.

Over 8500 Lemba Jews received treatment at the medical outreach.

CONGREGATIONS.

Another wedding at ZMF.

I am happy to report the baptism of several people at our Beth Messiah Congregation in Lusaka and in Luwingu several people received the Lord through the ministry of Rabbi Thomas Kapoki.

SCHOOL

According to UNESCO there are about 251 million children globally aged between 8-18 who are not in school. Over half of these children (over 51% or over 125 million) are found in Sub Sahara Africa which includes Zambia.

According to UNICEF about 800,000 Zambian children are out of school. And worse still Zambia has one of the highest rates of child marriages in Africa. Please help break the cycle of hopelessness by sponsoring a child at our Jerome Fleischer school at only $45 a month.

The Jerome Fleischer School for orphans has K1 to k12 grades and has been a place of refuge for the poorest of the poor. The children are offered food, academics, uniforms and medical treatment.

We are happy to be identified as one of the best schools in Matero/Lilanda zone and have produced nurses, electricians and others.

The Jerome Fleischer school is this year celebration 20 years of it’s existence.

ORPHANAGE.

Africa is home to a large number of orphans, with an estimated 52 million children living in orphanhood on the continent. This is more than a third of the world’s orphans, and the majority of them live in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Many orphans in Africa face difficult lives, without support and forced to care for themselves and their siblings. Some orphans turn to extended family members for support, but these family members are often unable to provide it.

There is no government help for orphans in Zambia.

Orphans in Zambia often live with impoverished relatives or older siblings or worse still on the streets.

The team from Hesperus Church in Southern Colorado visited our orphanage and gave it a new facelift. The team tiled, painted and repaired the orphanage dormitories, dining room, kitchen and storerooms.

We thank the Lord for this amazing team which also prayed and played with the orphans.

THE YALENGA FAMILY

Thank you for your support and prayers we are all doing well.

OTHER PRAISE REPORTS.

Computer labs are being set up at the orphanage and the two campuses of the Jerome Fleischer school.

We received a solar system at the orphanage to help mitigate the severe electricity outages currently facing Zambia.

We had a joyful wedding at ZMF.

Our HJ Ledbetter Campus was closed by the government due to having only one outhouse for more than 100 students and staff.

I am happy to report that we were able to build adequate bathrooms for our students and the city council connected us to the city water.

School is now open and children are learning.
