The Zambia Messianic
Fellowship

April 2026

Isa 2:3 Then many peoples will go and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Adonai, to the House of the God of Jacob! Then He will teach us His ways, and we will walk in His paths.” For Torah will go forth from Zion and the word of Adonai from Jerusalem.

REMEMBERING THE VICTIMS

ZAMBIA REMEMBERS THE VICTIMS OF THE HOLOCAUST

Dear Partners,

The Messianic Jewish community was invited by the Israeli Embassy in Lusaka to attend the Holocaust Memorial ceremony in Lusaka. In attendance were the Zambian Jewish community, Zambian government officials, some foreign ambassadors accredited to Zambia, the United Nations and students from the University of Zambia and other schools.

Never again means Never again! Am Yisrael Chai!
EDITOR'S LETTER

A word from Rabbi Alex

In a world where it is practically impossible to see the whole and true picture, humanity relies on localized and incomplete information to navigate complex systems. Because our brains prioritize survival over accuracy, we often filter reality to process only the most relevant details at any given moment.

The most dangerous form of blindness is believing one's own limited perspective is the entire, objective truth. But the Living God sees the world differently. In a world of uncertainty, God’s Word offers steadfast hope, assuring all of us of His presence, protection, and sovereign plan.

We should learn not only to trust in His strength rather than our own but to also cast our anxieties on Him, and knowing He brings good out of difficult circumstances. Don't be afraid, for I am with you; don't be distressed, for I am your God. I give you strength, I give you help, I support you with my victorious right hand. Isa 41:10 CJB

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

CHANGE OF GIVING

Following the advice of Roeh Israel Denver Board,
I am glad to report that you can now begin to give to the Zambian ministry through MJAS (Messianic Jewish Africa Support).
MJAS is a fully registered charitable and non-profit organization with the IRS and provides statements for tax-deductible contributions. The organization is operated by dedicated volunteers who are committed, God-fearing men and women. If you have any questions or would like assistance transitioning your giving from Roeh Israel Abilene to MJAS, Ron Darnell, one of the MJAS volunteers, would be happy to help. He can be reached at rdarnell@mjasf.org or by phone at (505) 362-5075.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rabbi Jay Ledbetter for faithfully covering and supporting us over the past 22 months. We are pleased to share that Sue Darnell, a wonderful Messianic Jewish believer, has now taken over the orphanage sponsorship coordinator role from our dear friend Maria Schmitt. We are deeply grateful to Maria and her husband, Chip, for the tremendous blessing they have been to the work in Zambia.

CONGREGATIONS

Meet Vincent Mayelesela, a Lemba Jew who was once a Pastor in a mainstream denomination. He was marginalized for being Jewish by the same denomination and at times denounced for refusing to eat food regarded as not Kosher for Jews. His love for Yeshua the Messiah of Israel and of the world kept him going.

Today Vincent is leading 3 of the Lemba congregations under ZMF. He is happy to embrace his Jewish heritage and at the same time hold on to his faith in Yeshua. He oversees congregations within a radius of about 28 miles.

CONSIDER A GENEROUS GIFT

Africa has about 1.5 billion people. Africa hosts 989 unreached people groups, representing roughly 26.7% or about 400 million of its population. These people groups often have little to no indigenous Bible believing communities.

Enable the Zambia Messianic Fellowship to be the feet of taking the good news to the unreached. We have a weekly radio program going out to millions of listeners.

For about 23 years we have taken care of orphans and abandoned children found at landfills, streets, under road bridges and from abandoned buildings and embraced them with the love of God and given them care, food, the gospel and school. Children who have lost their childhood are reembracing their childhood again at our facilities.
